We are sorry to announce the death on 1 March 2019 of former BAAL executive member, David Graddol, aged 65.
David was very active in the association in its early years, and was the prime instigator of the annual BAAL book prize. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Keeton, and triplet daughters. There will be no public funeral. Instead, Margaret has said ‘I would like people who knew David – and there were probably thousands who knew/knew of him through his work and conferences – to enjoy their memories of what he contributed in their own ways.’
David’s former Open University colleague Barbara Mayor (barbara.mayor@open.ac.uk) would be happy to convey any personal messages to the family.
